Finished work last night in preperation for the big trip. It's been a right grueller with 12 hour days six days a week. Was pleased when my replacement wanted to start early, so got off three days sooner than planned. Bit like the last day of term when they'd let you go early.
So, I've set the start day as May 28th. Why? no more reason than it's my birthday. At 10 o'clock. Because I don't want to rush.
I've been debating exactly were I'd start from. I was thinking somewere that makes a good photo, like by up by Lady Bridge, or the Jolly Sailor, or the Castle, bugger it I'm starting from my back door. To much thinking otherwise. And the trip is a bit about 'don't overlook the adventure thats on your backdoor step'
The Finish?
I've told the boss I'll be at least two weeks, but if all goes to plan it will be a month, but It could be a year.
Jude says I can go for three days.
First off I said I wanted to go to the seaside.
Then I've thought to were the Trent joins the Humber Eastury.
Or the begining of the tidal influence.
Or Burton on Trent.
Or camp out at Hopwas club and have a bender.
Just havn't decided yet.
Thanks to all that have been viewing this blog. You've encoraged me to have the courage of my convictions and keep going.
I will do my best to post daily from now on to the end of the trip.

Hey Sketch, Dawn here. Inclement weather eh? I would have thought it would have to be blowing at least a 9 to stop a hardened North Sea fisherman like yourself!!! I hope you have a survival suit in the dinghy - safety first!!
